How does a supplier do business with SASMOS?

Suppliers need to download, fill up and send a form in the Downloads->Become a supplier in the Supplier page of the company website on the Supplier page. Suppliers should also review the website to learn more about the products and services and find the best fit for your solutions.

How does SASMOS determine teaming partners?

SASMOS purchases a wide variety of goods and services. These goods and services include raw materials, components for wire harnessing, electronics and mechanical hardware, metal plating services, COTS products, IT services, training and engineering services. Prospective suppliers who have evinced interest to be teaming partners are assessed based on the product portfolio suiting SASMOS's needs, QMS Certifications, AS9100 requirements etc. An audit would be conducted by SASMOS and vendors would be qualified as partners.

What does SASMOS purchase?

SASMOS purchases a wide variety of goods and services. These goods include Connectors, Wires and cables, Sheet metal parts & cabinets / enclosures, Machined mechanical components, metal plating services, Braids, Terminals, contacts & connection elements, insulation parts, electronics components, COTS products, IT services, training and engineering services.

What does SASMOS look for in a supplier?

SASMOS considers many factors when determining team composition or making purchasing decisions. These requirements may vary depending upon application customer requirements, including:

  • Quality System meeting AS9100 requirements
  • Compliance to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Technical capability to meet the requirements (In case of customised parts, SASMOS may conduct capability audit for every new requirement.
  • Core capabilities, product or services offering resource availability and ability to recruit qualified candidates
  • Geographic location or customer proximity
  • Organizational conflicts of interest (OCI)
  • Past performance and reputation
  • Personnel experience
  • Dependability, responsiveness and teamwork

Additionally, we expect suppliers to demonstrate the following (business units may have additional special technical or quality requirements unique to their environment):

  • Financial viability
  • High ethical standards
  • Competitive pricing
  • Appropriate industry quality procedures and processes
  • Cost reduction program
  • Cycle time reduction program
  • Ability to offer a technological or service advantage over competitors

How do I find out which SASMOS' division is working on a specific contract?

As SASMOS works on many defence projects, where it has signed confidentiality agreements with its customers, SASMOS generally will not reveal the project it is working on, unless required by statutory/ regulatory requirements or otherwise it is mandatory for execution of the project.

SASMOS provides no guarantee that registrants will receive any monetary or contractual benefit. Your registration allows SASMOS' personnel across the enterprise to view your capabilities.

Does a supplier have to register in order to do business with SASMOS?

While registration is not mandatory, we do ask suppliers to register as it provides a method for us to find companies to work with when opportunities arise. Managers and buyers use our database to find subcontractors, vendors and teaming partners. And while there is no guarantee of a contractual arrangement, your company will be considered whenever we are searching for subcontractors, vendors or teaming partners.
